Albert Park Sporting Facility Upgrade (MPV)

This project involved soil sampling at some 260 locations within the sporting grounds of Albert Park using direct push drilling techniques.


The works took place during the set up of the 2009 Melbourne Grand Prix, with access around the park requiring constant communication with event organisers. 

 


Groundwater Program for DPI – Crawford River, Western Victoria (DPI)

A catchment scale investigation in south west Victoria measuring the impact of different land uses on water and salinity levels. Matrix Drilling successfully assisted installing a number of deep and shallow groundwater monitoring piezometers using rotary air and mud techniques during 2009.



Operating Quarry Sites – Yea & Lilydale

This involved environmental and geotechnical drilling for operating quarry sites in Victoria to assess contaminant concentrations in tailings as well as geotechnical drilling for the assessment of quarry face stability.

Matrix Drilling Recent Projects

RMIT Melbourne - Groundwater well installation works at RMIT on Swanston Street.

The fill material consisted of building rubble. Surface casing was installed to 3 m using an excavator and the wells were advanced using down hole hammer.

Government of Victoria - Geotechnical drilling at approximately 150 Victorian State Primary Schools as part of the government economic stimulus package.


Retail & Major Project Petroleum Sites - Various drilling methods used at retail petroleum sites and depots of the major oil companies.


Local Councils – Drilling of soil vapour bores and groundwater monitoring wells at two former landfill sites for the purpose of monitoring the activity of the landfill material and capping layers.
